Here come my parents!

My parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago. This was their first time coming out here since we've moved. I was so excited to have them come out and see our house and spend some time with us. The boys golfed a few times, and my mom and I did what we do best - shop! We had a great time and loved having them here. I didn't get too many pictures while they were here, but here are a few :)

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Lately I have really been enjoying cooking. I've been trying new recipes every night, and I've loved it! Maybe its our nice size island, I don't know, but cooking and baking are so much fun! Levi is always a good sport, we talk about each new dinner and whether we would eat it again or not. It's so funny because as soon as he takes the first bite he always says "its good love!" But I laugh because he hasn't even chewed it yet :) He's so sweet. Most of the time it is pretty good though ;)

A couple of months ago I found a chocolate chip cookie recipe and I was itching to try it. I can't remember the last time I made cookies! But with the move and being in California a lot I never got around to it until recently. Here are some pictures of the process...enjoy!

Yesterday afternoon I was getting ready to meet a girlfriend for lunch and when I got out of the shower I found Mason...chewing on his collar.

For the love of moss

When I was in California last I was showing my cousin Stephanie, a very talented interior decorated (among many other things :) some photos of our house and the few decor items I had up at the time. I was asking her for advice about this basket. It needed some help :) She mention she had a client who used moss in it.

So the last time I was at Hobby Lobby I grabbed some moss for a few different things around the house. This last weekend I decided to try the moss in the basket....and I instantly loved how it was turning out! After I packed the moss in, I put the fruit in and then I used hair spray and sprayed the outside of the moss to keep it in place, or else it sheds pretty easily. And voila!

I have found a new love for moss! I'm already thinking of my next moss project :)
